What Not Found means
On GE and GE Profile refrigerators with hands-free AUTOFILL (French door, 2017 and newer, such as the PFE28P and PYE22P series), Not Found means the AUTOFILL sensors did not recognize the container. The refrigerator will not start the fill. It is usually a matter of the container shape or dirty sensors, rather than a failure in the dispenser. It is rarely a repair.
Common causes of Not Found
- Container shape or size the sensors cannot read
- Dirty AUTOFILL sensors
- Low household water pressure affecting the fill
1. Try a different container: uniform, 4 to 8 inches tall and 2 to 6 inches wide. 2. Clean the sensors with a damp cloth. 3. Household water pressure of 60 to 100 psi works best. 4. Try the fill again.
- If a good container and clean sensors still give Not Found, the sensor or its circuit is the area to test.
- We check the sensors and the control signal.
- We quote in writing first.

Why does AUTOFILL say Not Found?
The sensors did not recognize the container. Shape, size or dirt on the sensors are the usual reasons. The sensors need a clear read of the container.
Which containers work best?
A uniform container, 4 to 8 inches tall and 2 to 6 inches wide. Hold the container steady for the fill to begin. A smooth, upright container reads best.
Does water pressure matter?
Yes. Household pressure of 60 to 100 psi works best. If everything is right and it still fails, the sensors need testing. Wipe both sensors.
