What 00 means
On GE Profile top-load dryers PTD60 and PTD90 (2020 and newer), a 00 result from the Vent Health test means the test is invalid because the ambient temperature is above 85 F. It does not say anything about your vent. This is different from a 00 you may see in the Time Remaining area during a cycle, which has its own meaning. In a warm Houston laundry room or garage, this result is easy to get in the afternoon.
Common causes of 00
- Room or garage temperature above 85 F
- Lint filter not clean or drum not empty during the test
1. Wait until the room is below 85 F, for example early morning or with the air conditioning running. 2. Empty the drum completely. 3. Clean the lint filter. 4. Hold Time and Level for 3 seconds, close the door and press Start to run the Vent Health test again. Read the new result number.
- If 00 still shows in a cool room, we check the temperature sensing the test relies on.
- We can also run the test in the room conditions it needs, so you get a true 01, 02 or 03.
- You get a written price before any work, and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Does 00 mean my vent is blocked?
No. It means the test could not run properly because the room is too warm, over 85 F, so it says nothing about the vent. Try again when the room is cooler.
Is this the same as 00 in Time Remaining?
No. During a cycle, 00 in Time Remaining is a time display with its own meaning. Here, 00 is a Vent Health test result for the invalid-test condition only.
Why does the test need an empty drum and a clean filter?
The test measures airflow, and wet clothes or a clogged lint filter would change the reading. Starting with an empty drum and a clean filter gives you a fair result.
Still unsure about 00?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
