What 2 means
Zoneline AZ90 and AZ91 single-package vertical units, including the AZ91H09D2C and AZ90E09D2C, use code 2 for input voltage out of specification. The allowed range is 103 to 127 volts on 115-volt units and 187 to 253 volts on 230-volt units. When the supply drifts outside that, the unit stops and opens all its relays until the voltage returns to range. Newer AZ95 units use code 2 for the outside fan.
Common causes of 2
- Building supply voltage too low or too high
- Overloaded circuit or shared branch in the building
- Loose connection feeding the unit
1. ENTER displays the stored codes, and SCROLL moves from one to the next. 2. Note whether other appliances on the same circuit are also acting up or lights are dim. 3. Leave the unit off until the supply settles. 4. Do not work on the receptacle or wiring yourself. 5. Report code 2 to your property manager or building electrician, then hold ENTER and SCROLL for 3 to 6 seconds to clear history once it is resolved.
- The unit reports what it sees, so the voltage problem may lie in the building rather than in the Zoneline.
- We confirm the supply at the unit before touching the unit itself.
- Our price is in writing first, and our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Room Air Conditioner codes
Will the unit restart when voltage is correct?
Yes, it stops with all relays open and resumes once the supply is back within range, though it may take a short while to start up again.
Is the unit damaged by code 2?
The shutdown is meant to protect it. Repeated voltage swings over time are what could cause harm, so the supply needs attention. Persistent low or high supply should be reported soon.
Who deals with the voltage in a hotel or condo?
The building's maintenance or an electrician usually handles supply issues. We can confirm the unit is healthy once the supply is stable. Our visit confirms the unit side once the supply is stable.
