Dryer Repair in Houston

We repair GE and Profile electric and gas dryers. If clothes stay damp, the drum will not turn, or the machine gets too hot, we check heat, airflow, venting and the drive.

Cycle ends early or never ends

A GE or Profile dryer tumbles laundry in a drum turned by a belt and motor while a blower pulls heated air through. Electric models use a heating element, and gas models use an igniter and valves. A thermostat and thermal fuse limit the temperature, and a moisture sensor or timer ends the cycle.

In Houston, long vent runs through hot attics and humid outdoor air make airflow the main variable. Lint collects in the duct and the cabinet, a crushed vent behind the dryer is common, and the vent cap outside may be blocked by a nest or lint. Closets can starve a dryer of makeup air.

We start with airflow at the vent, then test the heat source, the thermostats and the drive, and inspect the belt and rollers. We explain what we found and give a written price.

05Dryer questions
Why are my clothes damp after a full cycle?

Restricted venting is the most common cause, along with a lint-filled duct or a failing heating element, igniter or thermostat. We check airflow first, because poor venting can also overheat a dryer.

Is a clogged vent really a fire risk?

Yes. Lint and heat together are a known fire hazard, so clear the lint filter every load and have the duct checked. We look at the vent path on every dryer visit.

My drum will not turn. What failed?

A broken belt, a worn roller or idler, or a motor could be responsible. The sign alone does not say which, so we open the cabinet and check each.
