What PrS means
On GE electronic dishwashers that display C-codes, such as the GSD2340VSA, PrS means the pressure sensor is sending the control an invalid signal. This sensor tells the control how much water is in the tub. When the signal is not believable, the cycle cannot start or it cancels partway. The cause is most likely a sensor or its wiring harness, so it needs testing on site. You will see the code on the display and a dishwasher that will not run a full wash.
Common causes of PrS
- Pressure sensor producing an invalid reading
- Wiring harness or connector to the sensor damaged or loose
- Hose to the sensor blocked or kinked
- Control board misreading the sensor
1. Close and latch the door firmly. 2. Press Cancel or Reset. 3. Start a short cycle and watch the display. 4. Do not remove any panels or pull on wiring. 5. If PrS returns, leave the dishwasher off and book a visit.
- The sensor and its harness are inside the dishwasher, so we test them and do not guess.
- We check the hose, connector and sensor reading before we propose a part.
- You get a written price before any repair.
Other Dishwasher codes
What does PrS mean on my GE dishwasher?
The pressure sensor, which tells the control how much water is in the tub, is giving an invalid signal. The cycle may not start or may cancel.
Can I fix PrS myself?
There is no owner reset for this code. Closing the door firmly and pressing Cancel is safe. The sensor and its harness are inside the dishwasher and need testing.
Is PrS likely to be the sensor itself?
Often it is the sensor or its harness, but a blocked hose or the control can cause the same signal. We test the circuit before replacing a part.
Still seeing PrS?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
