What Low Rinse Aid means
On GE and GE Profile dishwashers from 2012 to 2018, such as the GDT695, PDT750 and GDF570, the Low Rinse Aid indicator means the rinse agent is low or empty. It is a maintenance indicator, not a problem with the dishwasher. Without rinse aid, dishes may dry less well and show spots, but the wash still runs. You see the indicator lit on the control panel.
Common causes of Low Rinse Aid
- Rinse aid dispenser low or empty
- Indicator setting turned on
1. Open the rinse aid dispenser cap inside the door. 2. Refill it with rinse aid. 3. Close the cap firmly. 4. If you prefer not to use rinse aid, press Pre-Soak or Steam 7 times within 5 seconds to turn the indicator off or back on.
- If the dispenser is full and the indicator stays on, we check the sensing for the rinse aid level.
- A dispenser that leaks or does not release rinse aid is a separate matter we can look at.
- The price is written before any work, with a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Can I turn off the Low Rinse Aid indicator?
Yes. Press Pre-Soak or Steam 7 times within 5 seconds to turn it off or on again. Do this only if you do not plan to use rinse aid, otherwise you lose the reminder.
Does an empty dispenser stop the dishwasher?
No. The wash still runs, but dishes may not dry as well and can show water spots. Refilling the dispenser usually brings the drying back to normal.
How much rinse aid does the dispenser hold?
Fill it to the level mark inside the dispenser, without overfilling. Too much can leave streaks or foam, and any spill should be wiped up.
