Water Heater Repair in Houston
We repair GE tank water heaters, gas and electric. If you have no hot water, lukewarm water, noise or a leak, we check the heat source, the controls and the tank safely.
Common water heater problems we fix
In the order we see them across Houston homes.
No hot water at any tap
Hot water only lukewarm at taps
Popping or rumbling noises
Water around the base of the tank
Rotten egg smell from hot water
Pilot or igniter will not stay lit
A GE tank water heater stores heated water for the whole house. Electric models use upper and lower heating elements with thermostats, while gas models use a burner, a pilot or igniter, a thermocouple or sensor, and a gas control valve. Both have a temperature and pressure relief valve and an anode rod to protect the tank.
Houston water is hard in many areas, so sediment builds on the tank floor and elements, and a tank in an attic or garage works in extreme heat. Leaks can cause serious damage to ceilings and slabs, so a wet floor or ceiling stain deserves quick attention.
We shut off power or gas as needed, check the supply, test the elements or the burner and sensor, inspect the relief valve and connections, and look at the tank for leaks. We tell you when replacement is the safer choice.

Why do I have no hot water?
On an electric heater it could be a tripped breaker, an element or a thermostat. On a gas heater it could be a pilot, an igniter, a thermocouple or a gas valve. We check the supply and safety controls first.
Is a leak from the tank something you can repair?
A leak from a fitting, valve or element gasket may be repairable. A leak from the tank itself means the tank has failed and replacement is the realistic answer. We trace the water before we say.
What is the rumbling noise?
Often it is sediment at the bottom of the tank that traps water and boils. Flushing helps in some cases. We check the age of the heater and the water quality before suggesting a flush.
