What F6 (Advantium 240V) means
On GE Advantium 240V speedcook ovens, such as the PSA2201, PSB9240, ZSC2201 and ZSB9231 series, F6 means a high cavity temperature was detected. This is different from the F6 on GE microwaves, where the same characters mean a shorted temperature probe. Here the oven has found the cavity hotter than it should be and stopped to protect itself. You will see F6 on the display, and the oven may refuse to start until the cavity cools and the code is cleared.
Common causes of F6 (Advantium 240V)
- Cavity temperature above the safe limit
- Cooling fan or airflow restricted
- Vents or intake blocked
- Temperature sensing circuit misreading
1. Press CLEAR/OFF or CANCEL and let the oven cool with the door open. 2. Make sure vents and the intake are clear. 3. Reprogram the cooking you wanted. 4. If F6 returns, cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds and try again. 5. If it comes back again, stop and book a visit.
- A cool oven that clears F6 once does not tell us why the cavity got too hot.
- We check the airflow, the fans and the temperature sensing.

Other Microwave & Advantium codes
What does F6 mean on a GE Advantium 240V?
A high cavity temperature was detected. The oven stops because the cavity is hotter than it should be, so cooling and airflow matter. Let it cool before another attempt.
Is this F6 the same as the microwave F6?
No. On the listed microwaves, F6 means the temperature probe is shorted. On Advantium 240V it means high cavity temperature. Check which oven you own.
What should I do if F6 returns?
Cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds and retry. If it comes back, do not keep running the oven, because overheating can damage it further.
