Most common issues on this model

  1. Smart features or Kitchen Assistant not responding
  2. Ice maker or dispenser output dropping
  3. Filter notification staying on
  4. Convertible or extra drawer not holding temperature
  5. Warm fresh-food section

The PVD28HYYFS is a GE Profile ENERGY STAR smart four-door French-door refrigerator with 27.89 cu ft of capacity, 35.75 in wide, with a Kitchen Assistant feature. Ice is Space Saving Ice, cubed and crushed, delivered by an external dispenser in a dark gray matte finish, with an XWFE filter and a replace-filter notification.

Four doors mean more seals and more airflow paths, so a warm section is traced through the damper, the evaporator fan and the door gaskets. For the smart features we check the network pairing and the control board. Ice and dispenser complaints begin at the water supply, filter and inlet valve.

We confirm the model and serial on the label before choosing parts. Expect a written price before work and a 30-day warranty on the repair.

PVD28HYYFSPVD28HYYFS questions
What is the Kitchen Assistant?

It is a feature listed in the product title for this model. If it stops responding, we check the network connection and the settings first, and then the control board.

What is Space Saving Ice?

It is the ice system listed for this model, producing cubed and crushed ice. If it slows, we test the water supply, the XWFE filter and the freezer temperature.

Why does the filter notification stay on?

The filter may need a reset, or it may not be fully seated. We check both and then the control, and we tell you the price before we order anything.
