What Vent Blocked means
On GE Profile top-load dryers PTD60 and PTD90 (2020 and newer), such as the PTD60EBSRWS and PTD90EBPTRS, the Vent Blocked light is Profile's wording for the Check Vent function. It means the dryer found reduced airflow, which usually points to a blocked or restricted vent somewhere between the drum and the outside. You may see damp loads after a full cycle, a hot cabinet or the door feeling warmer than normal.
Common causes of Vent Blocked
- Lint packed in the duct or at the outside hood
- Crushed or kinked duct behind the dryer
- Lint filter blocked or coated
- Long or multi-bend vent run
1. Check and clean the vent system from the back of the dryer to the outside hood. 2. Clean the lint filter. 3. Run the Vent Health test and read the result number. 4. Dry a normal load and see if the light turns off.
- If the vent is clear and the light still comes on, we look at the airflow sensing and the blower side of the dryer.
- The Vent Health result helps us separate a restricted house vent from a problem inside the dryer.
- You get a written price before work begins, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Is Vent Blocked the same as Check Vent?
Yes. It is the Profile name for the same function as Check Vent. Both mean the dryer sensed reduced airflow and suspects a restricted vent somewhere between the drum and the outside.
Should I keep using the dryer with this light on?
A restricted vent makes the dryer work harder and run hotter, so clean the vent before running more loads than you need. The Vent Health test shows how serious the restriction is.
Where does the lint usually collect?
Most often at the bends, at the connection behind the dryer and at the outside damper. We check each of those places when we trace airflow, and we show you what we find.

A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
