What F51 means

F51 on GE Profile GeoSpring PF and PH heat pump water heaters (2025 and newer) is an inverter software failure. The inverter drive runs its own program to control compressor speed, and F51 means that program did not start or run correctly. The control then stops the heat pump. You may see the compressor not running, slower heating, and the backup elements doing most of the work.
