What Water Full light / E0 means
On GE dehumidifiers with an LED display, including the APEL70LW, ADEL70LW and APER50LZ, the unit beeps for 10 seconds with the Water Full light flashing when the bucket is full and it is running without pump mode. On 70-pint pump models, the pump light flashes and E0 appears when water is not being pumped out in pump mode. One beep with 88 for 2 seconds at power-up is normal. The unit stops removing moisture until the water issue is cleared.
Common causes of Water Full light / E0
- Bucket full when running without pump mode
- Bucket not seated fully
- Pump hose kinked, blocked or routed upward too far
- Pump not moving water out in pump mode on 70-pint models
1. Empty the bucket and slide it back in until it seats fully. 2. For E0, check the pump hose for kinks and make sure the bucket is seated. 3. Reset the unit by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. 4. Make sure the hose outlet is not blocked and drains freely.
- If E0 returns after the hose and bucket are clear and the unit has been reset, we check the pump and the float sensing.
- We also confirm the bucket switch reads correctly.
Other Dehumidifier codes
What does the 10-second beep mean?
The bucket is full while the unit runs without pump mode, and the Water Full light flashes. Empty the bucket and seat it fully to let the unit continue.
What does E0 mean on a 70-pint model?
Water is not being pumped out in pump mode, so the pump light flashes and E0 shows. Check the hose and bucket seating, then unplug the unit for 30 seconds to reset it.
Is the 88 at power-up a problem?
No. One beep with 88 for 2 seconds is the normal start-up display when power is connected. It is not related to the bucket or the pump and needs no action.
