What Oven is too hot for sensor cook means
On GE Profile Advantium speedcook ovens, both 120 V and 240 V models such as the PSA2201RSS, PSB9120SFSS and PSB9240SFSS, two messages tell you the oven is cooling. Oven is too hot for sensor cook means that after speedcooking the oven must cool before the sensor works. Oven is Cooling means the cooling fan runs after cooking until internal parts cool. Both are normal and nothing is wrong.
Common causes of Oven is too hot for sensor cook
- Oven still hot after a speedcook cycle
- Cooling fan running after cooking
- Sensor program chosen too soon
1. Wait for the oven to cool. 2. Or cook by time instead of using the sensor program. 3. Let the cooling fan finish; do not switch off the power to the oven while it runs. 4. Try the sensor program again once the message is gone.
- If the fan runs far longer than usual, whether a temperature sensor is reading wrong stays unknown
- We check the sensors and the fan; ordinary cooling after a speedcook is not a repair

Why does my Advantium say Oven is Cooling?
After cooking, the fan keeps running until the internal parts cool, and the message shows while it does. It ends by itself, so there is nothing you need to press.
Why can't I use sensor cook right away?
The sensor needs a cooler oven to work. After speedcooking, wait for the cool-down or cook by time, and the sensor program will be available again afterward.
Are there other normal Advantium prompts like this?
Yes. Messages such as Optimizing Cooktime, Turn food over and Check for doneness are also normal prompts, not errors, and each simply asks you to wait or take a small action.
