Café CVM517P2MS1 Convection Microwave Repair

Arrange a Repair(713) 547-5545

Most common issues on this model

  1. Convection heating while microwave power still works
  2. Vent fan speed selection and airflow
  3. Handle and door latch alignment
  4. Display brightness and touch response

The CVM517P2MS1 is a Café 1.7 cu. ft. convection over-the-range microwave oven. It installs above a cooktop, where it works as a microwave, a convection oven, and a vent hood.

Convection is what separates this model from a basic over-the-range microwave, so service often starts there. If the microwave heats but baking or roasting does not, we check the convection heating and its fan separately from the microwave circuit. We also test the vent fan on each speed, look at the door latch and handle alignment, and check the display and touch response.

Models of this type sit in a hot, greasy spot, so we also look at the grease filters and fan intake. We confirm the model and serial from the label before ordering parts, tell you the price in writing first, and cover our work with a 30-day workmanship warranty.

CVM517P2MS1CVM517P2MS1 questions
The microwave heats but convection does not. What is likely wrong?

The microwave and convection systems are separate, so we test the convection heating and its fan on their own. That tells us whether the issue is the heater, the fan, or the controls.

Why does the vent fan sound weak?

Grease-loaded filters and a worn fan motor are the usual causes. We check each fan speed and the airflow at the cooktop. This model is installed over the range, so the venting matters.

Is the CVM517P2MS1 a 1.7 cubic foot oven?

Yes, it is listed as a Café 1.7 cu. ft. convection over-the-range microwave. We still read the label for the exact model and serial before ordering any part.
