What Wi-Fi Connect LED flashing / solid means
On GE and GE Profile smart window air conditioners with built-in Wi-Fi, such as the AHY08LZ, AHTR10AC, PHC08LY and AHTT08BC, the Wi-Fi Connect LED reports app setup status. A flashing LED means the home network name or password was entered incorrectly. A solid LED with the app still unable to connect means the app cannot locate the air conditioner in the GE Appliances cloud. It is a connection indicator, not a cooling error.
Common causes of Wi-Fi Connect LED flashing / solid
- Home network name or password entered incorrectly
- SmartHQ app not refreshed after the unit connected
- Router signal weak where the air conditioner sits
1. If the LED is flashing, re-enter the home network name and password. 2. If it is solid, close the SmartHQ app and reopen it. 3. Keep your phone close to the unit during setup. 4. Confirm the unit cools normally on its own controls.
- If setup keeps failing with correct details, we check whether the unit's Wi-Fi or your router is the issue.
- We confirm cooling works.

What does a flashing Wi-Fi LED mean?
During setup it means the password or home network was incorrect. Re-enter both carefully in the SmartHQ app and try the setup again from the start.
The LED is solid but the app can't connect. Why?
The app cannot locate the air conditioner in the cloud yet. Close the app completely, open it again and retry, keeping your phone close to the unit and on the home network.
Does this affect cooling?
No. The air conditioner cools normally without Wi-Fi. The LED only shows how far app setup got, so you can keep using the unit from its own controls in the meantime.
