What H2O SUPPLY / IE means
On GE electronic-control washers from 2017 onward, H2O SUPPLY, IE or blinking Wash and Rinse lights mean water is not entering the washer. Most often the supply valves are closed, but it can also be a pressure sensor problem or, rarely, very low water pressure. The washer holds a 4-minute lockout after stopping. You may see an empty tub and a cycle that will not progress.
Common causes of H2O SUPPLY / IE
- Supply valves closed or partly closed
- Kinked inlet hose
- Clogged inlet screens
- Pressure sensor reading incorrectly
- Very low household water pressure
1. Confirm both supply valves are fully open. 2. Check the hoses for kinks. 3. Wait out the 4-minute lockout. 4. Do not unplug the washer, because that restarts the timer. 5. Start the cycle again. 6. If the message returns, call us.
- With water confirmed on, the cause may be the inlet valve, the screens or the pressure sensor.
- We test flow at the inlet and the sensor reading.
- Low pressure is rare, and we check it with the other possibilities.

Why is my washer not filling with water?
It is not detecting water entering. The first thing to check is that both supply valves behind the washer are fully open, and that the hoses are not kinked or pinched.
What if the valves are open and the message stays?
The inlet screens can clog, or the pressure sensor can misread. Very low household pressure is rare but possible. We test the flow at the inlet and the sensor to tell which one applies.
Does unplugging the washer help?
No. Unplugging restarts the 4-minute lockout timer, so it only delays you. Wait out the lockout with the washer powered, and then start the cycle again.
