What Start light flashing means

On GE and GE Profile electronic dishwashers from 2014 on, such as the GDT665, GDT630, GDF630, GDT226 and PDT715, a flashing Start light means the door was opened or the cycle was interrupted. The dishwasher is waiting for you to restart it. On older models, a Start or Reset light that blinks for 75 to 90 seconds after a reset means the control is turning itself off.

Common causes of Start light flashing

  • Door opened during the cycle
  • Door not fully latched at start
  • Cycle interrupted by a power blip

1. Close the door firmly until it latches. 2. Press Start once and close the door within 4 seconds. 3. Press Start a second time only if you want to cancel the cycle while it runs. 4. If the light keeps flashing with the door shut, stop and let us check the latch.

Why is the Start light flashing on my GE dishwasher?

The door was opened or the cycle was interrupted, so the dishwasher is waiting for you. Close the door fully until it latches, then press Start once to resume the cycle.

What if I press Start twice?

Pressing Start a second time while the dishwasher is running cancels the cycle. To resume after an interruption, press it once and close the door within four seconds.

Why does the light blink after a reset on my older GE?
