What DOOR means

On GE Profile and Café wall ovens with mini-knob or touch controls, including the Café French-door ovens PT9550, CT9070 and CTS90FP, the word DOOR flashes when self-clean is selected but the door is not closed. It also flashes normally while the door is locking to start a self-clean or steam clean cycle. The oven will not begin cleaning until the door is closed and the lock has finished moving into place, so the message usually clears within moments.

Door left open or not fully closed when self-clean was selected
Latch still moving to lock for a clean cycle
Door held slightly ajar by a rack, towel or cleaner residue

1. Close the oven door fully. 2. Wait for the door to finish locking; the flashing stops when it does. 3. Check that nothing is caught in the door seal and that racks are fully pushed in. 4. Restart the clean cycle if it did not begin.

Why is DOOR flashing on my wall oven?

Either the door is not closed while self-clean is selected, or the door is in the process of locking for a clean or steam clean cycle. Closing it and waiting usually clears the message.

How long should the door take to lock?

It should finish within a short time of starting the cycle. If DOOR flashes for a long time with the door fully shut, the latch or its switch needs to be looked at.

Can I cook while DOOR is flashing?

The message relates to a cleaning cycle. If you only wanted to bake, cancel the clean setting, close the door and start your cooking mode again.
