What Cycle Canceled Draining means
On GE Profile UltraFast combo washer-dryers such as the PFQ97HSPVDS, Cycle Canceled Draining means the cycle ended before finishing, and the washer is draining the water out. It happens when a cycle has been paused for more than 24 hours or when the washer stops itself. A 4-minute lockout follows. You will see the display message and hear the pump emptying the drum.
Common causes of Cycle Canceled Draining
- Cycle left paused over 24 hours
- Washer stopped itself after an earlier error
- Four-minute lockout after the cancel
1. Let the washer finish draining on its own, which can take a few minutes. 2. Wait 4 minutes for the lockout to end. 3. Make sure the door is fully closed and nothing is caught in the seal. 4. Restart the cycle. 5. If the cycle cancels again, stop and call us.
- A cycle that cancels over and over means the washer is stopping itself for a reason.
- We look for what triggers the stop, such as drain, door or water supply conditions.
- We give a written price before work.

What does Cycle Canceled Draining mean?
The washer ended the cycle before it finished and is now emptying the water from the drum. It is a normal protective step after a cycle was paused for more than 24 hours or the washer stopped itself.
When can I start a new cycle?
After about 4 minutes. Let the washer finish draining, make sure the door is fully closed, and then restart the cycle. If you start too early, the washer will simply refuse and the lockout continues.
It cancels again every time. What then?
Something is making the washer stop itself, such as a drain, door or water supply condition. We trace what triggers the stop, test the part involved and give you a written price before repairing it.
