Café CVM517P3RD1 Over-the-Range Microwave Repair

Most common issues on this model

Convection Bake, Roast or Fast Cook not heating while the microwave works
Exhaust fan speeds and the 300 CFM airflow
Door latch and switch operation
Touch controls and display response

The CVM517P3RD1 is a Café 1.7 cu. ft. convection over-the-range microwave, 30 in wide and electric. It is rated at 950 W for microwave cooking, offers Bake, Roast and Fast Cook convection controls, and has a three-speed exhaust fan listed at 300 CFM.

Because it combines three jobs, we separate them during diagnosis. We test microwave heating first, then the convection modes, then each fan speed. A unit that microwaves normally but will not bake usually needs the convection heating or its fan checked. If the vent is weak, we look at the grease filters and the fan motor before anything else.

These models hang over a cooktop, so heat and grease take a toll on switches and controls over the years. We read the model and serial from the label to confirm the exact version before ordering parts. You receive a written price in advance, and our repair work is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty.

CVM517P3RD1CVM517P3RD1 questions

The CVM517P3RD1 microwaves fine but will not bake. Why?

Microwave heating and convection run on separate systems. We test the convection modes, Bake, Roast and Fast Cook, to see whether the heater, the fan, or the control is the problem.

How strong should the vent fan be on this model?

The model is listed with a three-speed exhaust fan rated at 300 CFM. If it sounds weak, we check filters, the motor on each speed, and the duct or recirculation setup.

Do similar Café numbers use the same parts?

Café convection microwaves can share a description yet differ by finish or version, so we never assume. We confirm the exact number from your label before ordering anything.
