What Smart Assist light yellow means
On GE and GE Profile top-control dishwashers with Smart Assist from 2022 on, such as the GDT670, GDP670 and PDP715, a yellow Smart Assist light means there is a notification available in the SmartHQ app. It is an advisory, one step below the red light. Nothing has necessarily stopped working. The notice may suggest a maintenance step or an adjustment to how you run the dishwasher.
Common causes of Smart Assist light yellow
- Maintenance reminder waiting in the app
- Advisory about a setting or cycle choice
1. Open the SmartHQ app on your phone. 2. Read the notification for the dishwasher. 3. Follow the recommended steps shown in the app. 4. Run the dishwasher again and see whether the light clears. 5. If the app asks for something you cannot do yourself, write the notice down for us.
- If the notice asks for a step you cannot do, we can do it during a visit.
- A yellow light that comes back after you follow the steps makes us check what the dishwasher is reacting to.
- We give a written price before work begins, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Does yellow mean the dishwasher is broken?
No. It means a notification is waiting in the SmartHQ app. Nothing is necessarily wrong, and the app tells you what it suggests and which steps to follow.
Why is the light still on after I followed the steps?
Some notices clear on the next run, not right away. Run a cycle and check again. If it stays, we look at what is triggering the notice.
Can I see the notice without the app?
The yellow light points you to the app. Without it, you cannot read the notice itself, so installing and connecting SmartHQ is the way to see the recommended steps.
Still unsure about Smart Assist light yellow?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
