What 35, 59, 60, 61, 63, 64 means
The numbers 35, 59, 60, 61, 63 and 64 are accelerometer records on GE UltraFresh front-load washers (GFW510, GFW550, GFW650 and GFW850 series, 2020 and newer). The control sets them when the accelerometer board, which senses drum motion and imbalance, reports a problem. A technician reads them in the stored error history, and the display on these models may also show them. Owners may see unusual shaking, spin cycles cut short or a washer that limits its speed.
Common causes of 35, 59, 60, 61, 63, 64
- Accelerometer board and its connector
- Wiring between the sensor board and the main control
- Mounting of the sensor to the cabinet
- Main control reading of the sensor
1. Level the washer so all four feet touch the floor and it does not rock. 2. Run a small, evenly spread load and see whether the spin behaves normally. 3. Leave the cabinet closed; the sensor board is not an owner repair.
- A sensor board that reports a problem may be failing, loose or wrongly mounted, and the number alone does not decide
- We check the board mounting and wiring, then test the signals the control receives
- You see a written price before any part is replaced, with a 30-day workmanship warranty

What does the accelerometer do?
It senses drum motion so the control can detect imbalance and limit spin. If it misreports, spins may be cut short or the washer may shake.
Is it the same as a bad load?
No. A bunched load is a laundry matter; these numbers point to the sensor board. The sensor reads motion, so a washer that is rocking on its feet can look like a sensor problem and is worth leveling first.
Does a shaking washer mean this code?
Not always. A washer that is out of level or has a bunched load shakes too. We rule those out before testing the sensor board.
