PGP990DENBB
GE Profile PGP990DENBB Downdraft Gas Cooktop Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Burner not lighting or clicking
- Downdraft vent not pulling or not starting
- Uneven flame
- Rotary control not responding
- Spill residue in the vent opening
The GE Profile PGP990DENBB is a built-in downdraft gas modular cooktop, 30 inches wide, with infinite heat rotary controls. The right front burner is listed at 10,000 BTU, the grates are continuous and dishwasher safe, and PGP990DENWW is listed as a related number. A downdraft cooktop pulls cooking air down through the surface instead of up to a hood.
Because a downdraft vent is built in, we check it with the burners. That means the burner heads, caps, igniters, and rotary controls, plus the downdraft blower, its control, and any grease buildup in the vent path. A vent that does not start can have a control or blower issue, while weak pull usually points to buildup or ducting.
The label gives the exact model and serial, and we read both before we order parts. Our price is written down before work begins, and the repair is backed by our 30-day workmanship warranty.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my downdraft vent not start?
The vent control, the blower, or its wiring may have failed. We test the control and the blower and check the duct path for blockage or grease buildup before suggesting a part, and we quote it in writing.
Is PGP990DENWW the same cooktop?
It is listed as a related number for this downdraft cooktop. We read the label on your unit and confirm the exact model and serial before ordering any part, so what arrives fits your cooktop.
What does infinite heat rotary mean?
The burners are adjusted by a rotary control that allows any setting between high and low. If a burner does not respond, we test the control and valve.
